[189] A bhikkhu commands a bhikkhu: "Deprive so-and-so of life" — an offense (āpatti) of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). He, thinking it to be that very person, deprives that person of life — an offense of pārājika for both. A bhikkhu commands a bhikkhu: "Deprive so-and-so of life" — an offense of wrong-doing. He, thinking it to be that very person, deprives another of life — no offense for the instigator (mūlaṭṭha); an offense of pārājika for the killer (vadhaka).
