[378] "Whoever" (yo pana): whoever, of whatever sort … "bhikkhu" … this is the bhikkhu intended in this sense as "bhikkhu."
"Overcome [by lust]" (otiṇṇo) means: impassioned, having desire [toward her], with a mind bound [to her].
"Altered" (vipariṇataṃ): a mind that is lustful is altered; a mind that is corrupted by hatred is altered; a mind that is deluded is altered. But it is the lustful mind that is intended in this sense as "altered."
"Woman" (mātugāmo) means: a human female — not a yakkhinī, not a petī, not a female animal — even a girl born that very day, still more so one who is older.¹
"With" (saddhiṃ): together.
"Should engage in bodily contact": this is called the transgression (ajjhācāra).
"Hand" (hattho) means: from the elbow up to the tips of the fingernails.
"Braid" (veṇi) means: [hair that is] pure hair, or mixed with thread, or mixed with garlands, or mixed with silver, or mixed with gold, or mixed with pearls, or mixed with gems.
"Limb" (aṅgaṃ) means: excluding the hand and the braid, the remainder is called a limb.
