[414] Now at that time a certain bhikkhu, lustful, said this to a certain woman: "Are you faithful (saddhā), sister? And yet what you give to your husband, that you do not give to us." "What, venerable sir?" "Sexual intercourse (methunadhamma)." Remorse arose in him. … "Bhikkhu, you have committed an offense entailing saṅghādisesa." Now at that time a certain bhikkhu, lustful, said this to a certain woman: "Are you faithful, sister? And yet the highest gift (aggadāna) — that you do not give to us." "What is the highest gift, venerable sir?" "Sexual intercourse." Remorse arose in him. … "Bhikkhu, you have committed an offense entailing saṅghādisesa."
