[610] *"Now if a bhikkhu is by nature difficult to admonish"* means: he is difficult to admonish (dubbaca), endowed with qualities that make one hard to admonish, impatient, not accepting instruction with good grace. *"In the training rules included in the recitation"* means: in the training rules included in the Pātimokkha. *"By bhikkhus"* means: by other bhikkhus. *"Legitimately" (sahadhammika)* means: whatever training rule has been laid down by the Blessed One — this is called legitimate. Being admonished with that, he makes himself one not to be spoken to, saying: "Venerable sirs, do not say anything at all to me, whether good or bad; I too will not say anything to the venerable ones, whether good or bad. Refrain, venerable sirs, from admonishing me."
