[125] Having gone to the little river Kakudhā,
with water clear, water sweet, limpid,
the Teacher plunged in, unwearied in form —
the Buddha, the Tathāgata, without equal in the world.
Having bathed in and drunk of the waters,
placed at the head, in the midst of the company of bhikkhus,
the Teacher, the Blessed One, the promulgator of the Dhamma here,
the great seer, came to the mango grove.
He addressed the bhikkhu named Cundaka:
"Spread it out folded in four for me; I shall lie down."
He, Cunda, urged by the One of developed self,
quickly spread it out folded in four;
the Teacher lay down, unwearied in form,
and Cunda too sat down there before him.
