Mahāgovindasutta

Suttapiṭaka · Dīghanikāya · Mahāvagga · Vol. 10 · Section 210

[210] Truly, sirs, the Tāvatiṃsa gods together with their Lord Inda rejoice, paying homage to the Tathāgata and to the excellence of the Dhamma; and seeing the new-come gods, beautiful and glorious, who have come here after living the spiritual life (brahmacariya) under the Sugata. They outshine the others in beauty, glory, and lifespan— the disciples of the One of vast wisdom, who have attained distinction here. Seeing this, the Tāvatiṃsa gods together with their Lord Inda delight, paying homage to the Tathāgata and to the excellence of the Dhamma.
