And what in the world is dear in nature and agreeable in nature? The eye in the world is dear in nature and agreeable in nature: there this craving, when arising, arises; there, when settling, it settles. The ear in the world … The nose in the world … The tongue in the world … The body in the world … The mind (citta)¹ in the world is dear in nature and agreeable in nature: there this craving, when arising, arises; there, when settling, it settles.
