[41] Then, bhikkhus, at a later time, the Bodhisatta Vipassī dwelt contemplating arising and passing away (udayabbaya) in the five aggregates subject to clinging (upādānakkhandhā): 'Such is form, such is the origin of form, such is the passing away (atthaṅgama) of form; such is feeling (vedanā), such is the origin of feeling, such is the passing away of feeling; such is perception, such is the origin of perception, such is the passing away of perception; such are volitional formations, such is the origin of volitional formations, such is the passing away of volitional formations; such is consciousness, such is the origin of consciousness, such is the passing away of consciousness.'
As he dwelt contemplating arising and passing away in the five aggregates subject to clinging, before long his mind (citta) was liberated from the taints (āsava) through not clinging.
