[9] Bhikkhus, the father of the Blessed One Vipassī, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One, was the king named Bandhumā; his birth mother was the queen named Bandhumatī; and the city named Bandhumatī was King Bandhumā's capital.
Bhikkhus, the father of the Blessed One Sikhī, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One, was the king named Aruṇa; his birth mother was the queen named Pabhāvatī; and the city named Aruṇavatī was King Aruṇa's capital.
Bhikkhus, the father of the Blessed One Vessabhū, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One, was the king named Suppatīta; his birth mother was the queen named Yasavatī; and the city named Anoma was King Suppatīta's capital.
Bhikkhus, the father of the Blessed One Kakusandha, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One, was the brahmin named Aggidatta; his birth mother was the brahmin lady named Visākhā. Now at that time, bhikkhus, there was a king named Khema, and the city named Khemavatī was King Khema's capital.
Bhikkhus, the father of the Blessed One Koṇāgamana, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One, was the brahmin named Yaññadatta; his birth mother was the brahmin lady named Uttarā. Now at that time, bhikkhus, there was a king named Sobha, and the city named Sobhavatī was King Sobha's capital.
Bhikkhus, the father of the Blessed One Kassapa, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One, was the brahmin named Brahmadatta; his birth mother was the brahmin lady named Dhanavatī. Now at that time, bhikkhus, there was a king named Kiṅkī, and the city named Bārāṇasī was King Kiṅkī's capital.
Bhikkhus, in this present time my father was the king named Suddhodana; my birth mother was the queen named Māyā; and the city named Kapilavatthu was the capital.
Thus spoke the Blessed One. Having said this, the Fortunate One (Sugata) rose from his seat and entered the dwelling.
