[153] Having weighed, investigated, and reflected,
surveying how the great multitude might be won over,
[discerning] "This one deserves this" — in each several case
he was, in former times, a maker of distinctions among persons.
And standing erect and even, not bending down,
he touches his knees with both hands;
he came to be rounded in girth like a great tree
through the remaining ripening of his well-conducted deeds.
Knowers of many and various signs and marks,
men of keen acuity, declared:
"Many and various things worthy of householders
does the young and tender prince obtain.
And here, for this lord of the earth,
there are many sensual enjoyments befitting a householder;
if he abandons all enjoyment of sensual pleasures,
he obtains the unsurpassed, supreme pinnacle of wealth."
