[245] Four stations of consciousness (viññāṇaṭṭhiti):
Friends, consciousness (viññāṇa), while persisting, persists engaged with form (rūpa); having form as its object, having form as its support, and frequenting delight, it comes to growth, increase, and abundance.
Or, friends, engaged with feeling (vedanā) … Or, friends, engaged with perception (saññā) … Or, friends, engaged with volitional formations (saṅkhārā): consciousness, while persisting, persists having volitional formations as its object, having volitional formations as its support, and frequenting delight, it comes to growth, increase, and abundance.
