[401] What four things (dhammā) should be developed? The four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna). Here, friends, a bhikkhu dwells contemplating the body in the body, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world. He dwells contemplating feelings (vedanā) … the mind (citta) … dhammas in dhammas, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world. These four things should be developed.
