[184] So it was, Sāriputta, that I made my bed in a charnel ground, using the bones of corpses as a pillow. Moreover, Sāriputta, cowherd boys would approach me: they spat on me, they urinated on me, they showered me with dust, and they even poked sticks into my ear-holes. Yet, Sāriputta, I do not recall having aroused an evil mind (citta) toward them. Such, Sāriputta, was my abiding in equanimity.
