Suttapiṭaka · Majjhimanikāya · Vol. 12 · Section 28

[28] Seated to one side, the brahmin Jāṇussoṇi said this to the Blessed One: "Master Gotama, those sons of good family (kulaputta) who, out of faith directed toward Master Gotama, have gone forth from the home life into homelessness — Master Gotama is their forerunner, Master Gotama is of great help to them, Master Gotama is the one who encourages them; and that populace follows Master Gotama's example." "So it is, brahmin, so it is, brahmin. Those sons of good family who, out of faith directed toward me, have gone forth from the home life into homelessness — I am their forerunner, I am of great help to them, I am the one who encourages them; and that populace follows my example."
