[377] "When this was said, venerable sir, I said to the Venerable Revata: 'Friend Revata, the Venerable Ānanda has answered according to his own inspiration (paṭibhāna). Now on that point we ask the Venerable Revata: Friend Revata, the Gosiṅga sāla-tree wood is delightful, the night is moonlit, the sāla trees are all in full blossom; heavenly scents, one would think, are wafting about. With what kind of bhikkhu, friend Revata, would the Gosiṅga sāla-tree wood be graced?' When this was said, venerable sir, the Venerable Revata said to me: 'Here, friend Sāriputta, a bhikkhu delights in seclusion (paṭisallāna) and takes delight in seclusion; he is devoted to internal serenity of mind (cetosamatha), does not neglect jhāna, is endowed with insight (vipassanā), and is a cultivator of empty dwellings (suññāgāra). With such a kind of bhikkhu, friend Sāriputta, would the Gosiṅga sāla-tree wood be graced.'"
"Good, good, Sāriputta! Answering rightly, it is just so that Revata would answer; for Revata, Sāriputta, delights in seclusion and takes delight in seclusion, is devoted to internal serenity of mind, does not neglect jhāna, is endowed with insight, and is a cultivator of empty dwellings."
