[401] [Saccaka asked:] "And in what way, then, is a disciple of the worthy Gotama one who carries out the teaching, who responds to the instruction, who has crossed over doubt (vicikicchā), rid of perplexity, attained to assurance, and dwells independent of others in the Teacher's dispensation?"
"Here, Aggivessana, a disciple of mine sees with right wisdom, as it really is (yathābhūta), any form (rūpa) whatsoever—whether past, future, or present; internal or external; gross or subtle; inferior or superior; far or near—all form thus: 'This is not mine, this I am not, this is not my self.' Any feeling (vedanā) whatsoever … Any perception (saññā) whatsoever … Any volitional formations (saṅkhārā) whatsoever … Any consciousness (viññāṇa) whatsoever—whether past, future, or present; internal or external; gross or subtle; inferior or superior; far or near—all consciousness he sees with right wisdom, as it really is, thus: 'This is not mine, this I am not, this is not my self.' To this extent, Aggivessana, a disciple of mine is one who carries out the teaching, who responds to the instruction, who has crossed over doubt, rid of perplexity, attained to assurance, and dwells independent of others in the Teacher's dispensation."
