[408] "But, Aggivessana, what have you heard concerning the development of the mind (cittabhāvanā)?"
When questioned by the Blessed One concerning the development of the mind, Saccaka the Nigaṇṭha's son was unable to answer.
Then the Blessed One said this to Saccaka the Nigaṇṭha's son: "Aggivessana, even that former development of the body (kāyabhāvanā) which you have set forth — even that is not the development of the body in accordance with the Dhamma in the discipline of the Noble One. You do not understand even the development of the body — how then will you understand the development of the mind? Nevertheless, Aggivessana, as to how one is undeveloped in body and undeveloped in mind, and how one is developed in body and developed in mind — listen to that and attend carefully; I will speak."
"Yes, sir," Saccaka the Nigaṇṭha's son replied in assent to the Blessed One.
