[433] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in the Eastern Park, in the mansion of Migāra's mother. Then Sakka, lord of devas, approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, he stood at one side. Standing at one side, Sakka, lord of devas, said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, in what way, in brief, is a bhikkhu liberated through the destruction of craving (taṇhā) — one who has reached the ultimate consummation, who has ultimate security from the yoke, who lives the ultimate spiritual life, who has reached the ultimate goal, and who is best among devas and humans?"
