[513] Then Visākha the lay follower, having delighted in and rejoiced at the words of the bhikkhunī (bhikkhunī) Dhammadinnā, rose from his seat, paid homage to the bhikkhunī Dhammadinnā, circumambulated her keeping her to his right, and approached the Blessed One. Having approached, he paid homage to the Blessed One and sat down at one side. Sitting at one side, Visākha the lay follower reported to the Blessed One the entire conversation he had had with the bhikkhunī Dhammadinnā.
When this was said, the Blessed One said to Visākha the lay follower: "Wise, Visākha, is the bhikkhunī Dhammadinnā; of great wisdom, Visākha, is the bhikkhunī Dhammadinnā. If you had questioned me about that matter, I too would have answered it in just the same way as it was answered by the bhikkhunī Dhammadinnā. That is indeed the meaning of it; thus should you bear it in mind."
Thus spoke the Blessed One. Delighted, Visākha the lay follower rejoiced in the words of the Blessed One.
The Cūḷavedalla Sutta, the fourth, is finished.
