[7] Bhikkhus, that bhikkhu also who is an arahant whose taints (āsava) are destroyed, who has lived the life, done what had to be done, laid down the burden, reached his own true goal, utterly destroyed the fetter of existence, and is liberated through final knowledge — he too directly knows earth as earth; having directly known earth as earth, he does not conceive earth, does not conceive in earth, does not conceive from earth, does not conceive 'earth is mine,' does not delight in earth. For what reason? Because, with the destruction of delusion (moha), he is free from delusion. … He directly knows water … fire … air … beings … gods … Pajāpati … Brahmā … the Ābhassara gods … the Subhakiṇha gods … the Vehapphala gods … the Abhibhū (the Vanquisher) … the base of the infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana) … the base of the infinity of consciousness … the base of nothingness … the base of neither-perception-nor-non-perception … the seen … the heard … the sensed … the cognized … oneness … diversity … the all … He directly knows Nibbāna as Nibbāna; having directly known Nibbāna as Nibbāna, he does not conceive Nibbāna, does not conceive in Nibbāna, does not conceive from Nibbāna, does not conceive 'Nibbāna is mine,' does not delight in Nibbāna. For what reason? Because, with the destruction of delusion, he is free from delusion. The delimitation of the ground in the sixth method, by way of the one whose taints are destroyed.
