[291] "Such is my confidence in the worthy Gotama: the worthy Gotama is able to teach me the Dhamma in such a way that I might rise from this seat no longer blind."
"In that case, Māgaṇḍiya, you should associate with true persons (sappurisa). When, Māgaṇḍiya, you associate with true persons, then, Māgaṇḍiya, you will hear the true Dhamma (saddhamma). When, Māgaṇḍiya, you hear the true Dhamma, then, Māgaṇḍiya, you will practise in accordance with the Dhamma (dhammānudhamma). When, Māgaṇḍiya, you practise in accordance with the Dhamma, then, Māgaṇḍiya, you will know for yourself, you will see for yourself: 'These are the diseases, the boils, the darts; here the diseases, the boils, the darts cease without remainder. With the cessation (nirodha) of my clinging (upādāna) comes the cessation of existence (bhava); with the cessation of existence, the cessation of birth (jāti); with the cessation of birth, aging and death (jarā, maraṇa) and sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief, and despair cease. Thus is the cessation of this entire mass of suffering (dukkha).'"
