[360] "Carpenter (thapati), when an individual person is possessed of four qualities, I do not declare him to be accomplished in the skillful (kusala), nor supreme in the skillful, nor an invincible ascetic attained to the highest attainment; rather, such a person stands merely on the same level as a young, tender infant lying on its back. What four? Here, carpenter, one does no evil deed with the body, speaks no evil speech, intends no evil intention, and does not earn a living by an evil livelihood. Possessed of these four qualities, carpenter, I do not declare an individual person to be accomplished in the skillful, nor supreme in the skillful, nor an invincible ascetic attained to the highest attainment; rather, such a person stands merely on the same level as a young, tender infant lying on its back."
