[441] Having sat down, King Koravya said this to the Venerable Raṭṭhapāla: "Worthy Raṭṭhapāla, there are these four kinds of loss (pārijuñña), endowed with which some persons here shave off their hair and beard, clothe themselves in ochre robes, and go forth from the household life into homelessness. What are the four? Loss through aging, loss through sickness, loss of wealth, and loss of relatives."
