If a sudda (menial) should prosper in wealth, or grain, or silver, or gold, would even a sudda rise before him and retire after him, attend upon his bidding, behave agreeably, and speak pleasantly to him? Would even a khattiya (noble) … even a brāhmaṇa (brahmin) … even a vessa (merchant) rise before him and retire after him, attend upon his bidding, behave agreeably, and speak pleasantly to him?"
