[552] Having sat down, King Pasenadi of Kosala said this to the venerable Ānanda: "Venerable Ānanda, would the Blessed One engage in such bodily conduct (kāyasamācāra) as would be censured by wise ascetics and brahmins?"
"No, great king, the Blessed One would not engage in such bodily conduct as would be censured by wise ascetics and brahmins."
"But, venerable Ānanda, would the Blessed One engage in such verbal conduct (vacīsamācāra) … mental conduct (manosamācāra) as would be censured by wise ascetics and brahmins?"
"No, great king, the Blessed One would not engage in such mental conduct as would be censured by wise ascetics and brahmins."
