[62] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Nāḷandā, in Pāvārika's Mango Grove. Now at that time the Nigaṇṭha Nāṭaputta was residing at Nāḷandā together with a large assembly of Nigaṇṭhas. Then the Nigaṇṭha Dīghatapassī, having wandered for alms in Nāḷandā, after the meal, having returned from his almsround, approached Pāvārika's Mango Grove and the Blessed One; having approached, he exchanged greetings with the Blessed One, and when the courteous and memorable talk of greeting was concluded, he stood to one side. As the Nigaṇṭha Dīghatapassī stood to one side, the Blessed One said this to him: "There are seats, Dīghatapassī; if you wish, sit down." When this was said, the Nigaṇṭha Dīghatapassī took a certain low seat and sat down to one side.
