[670] "In the same way, brahmin, if one has gone forth from the household life into homelessness from a family of khattiyas, and, relying on the Dhamma and Discipline proclaimed by the Tathāgata, he abstains from the killing of living beings, abstains from taking what is not given, abstains from what is contrary to the holy life (abrahmacariya), abstains from false speech, abstains from divisive speech, abstains from harsh speech, abstains from idle chatter, is uncovetous, has a mind free of ill will (byāpāda), and is one of right view (sammādiṭṭhi) — he is one who succeeds in the true way, the wholesome Dhamma (ñāyaṃ dhammaṃ kusalaṃ).
