[7] Then, not long after Pessa the elephant driver's son (hatthārohaputta) had departed, the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, Pessa the elephant driver's son is a wise man; bhikkhus, Pessa the elephant driver's son has great wisdom. Bhikkhus, if Pessa the elephant driver's son had sat for a moment longer, until I had analyzed these four persons for him in detail, he would have been endowed with great benefit. Yet, bhikkhus, even to this extent Pessa the elephant driver's son is endowed with great benefit."
"It is the time for this, Blessed One! It is the time for this, Sublime One (Sugata)! — that the Blessed One should analyze these four persons in detail. Having heard it from the Blessed One, the bhikkhus will remember it."
"Well then, bhikkhus, listen and attend closely; I will speak."
"Yes, venerable sir," those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One.
