[725] "Student, of those five things which the brahmins prescribe for the making of merit (puñña), for the accomplishment of the wholesome (kusala) — which thing among these do the brahmins declare to be more fruitful for the making of merit, for the accomplishment of the wholesome?"
"Worthy Gotama, of these five things which the brahmins prescribe for the making of merit, for the accomplishment of the wholesome, the brahmins declare generosity (cāga) to be the thing more fruitful for the making of merit, for the accomplishment of the wholesome."
