[435] "It is good, venerable Anuruddha. But I have a further question to ask on this point: as far as the deities of radiance (ābhā) extend, do all of them have corrupted radiance, or are there some deities there who have pure radiance?"
"In that respect (tadaṅgena), friend Kaccāna, there are some deities there who have corrupted radiance, and there are some deities there who have pure radiance."
"What, venerable Anuruddha, is the cause, what is the condition, why, among those deities who have arisen in a single order of gods (devanikāya), some deities there have corrupted radiance, while some deities there have pure radiance?"
