[713] "In the future time, Ānanda, there will be those who are (members of the) clan in name only (gotrabhū), with ochre cloth about their necks, immoral, of evil character. People will give gifts, dedicated to the Saṅgha, among those immoral ones. Even then, Ānanda, I say that an offering (dakkhiṇā) directed to the Saṅgha is incalculable, immeasurable. And in no way whatsoever, Ānanda, do I say that a gift to a specific individual (pāṭipuggalika-dāna) is more fruitful than an offering directed to the Saṅgha."
