[811] The Blessed One said this: "The six internal sense bases (ajjhattikāni āyatanāni) should be understood; the six external sense bases (bāhirāni āyatanāni) should be understood; the six classes of consciousness (viññāṇakāyā) should be understood; the six classes of contact (phassakāyā) should be understood; the six classes of feeling (vedanā) should be understood; the six classes of craving (taṇhā) should be understood."
