[836] When this was said, the brahmins and householders of Nagaravinda said to the Blessed One: "Excellent, Master Gotama! Excellent, Master Gotama! Just as, Master Gotama, one might set upright what has been overturned, or reveal what has been hidden, or point out the path to one who is lost, or hold up an oil lamp in the darkness so that those with eyes might see forms — even so has the Dhamma been made clear in many ways by Master Gotama. We here go to Master Gotama for refuge, and to the Dhamma, and to the Saṅgha of bhikkhus. May Master Gotama remember us as lay followers who have gone for refuge for life, from this day forth."
The Nagaravindeyya Sutta, the Eighth, is finished.
