[865] "Thus, Ānanda, the supreme development of the faculties (anuttarā indriyabhāvanā) in the discipline of the Noble One has been taught by me; the trainee (sekha) who is on the way of practice has been taught; the noble one with developed faculties has been taught. Whatever, Ānanda, should be done by a teacher who seeks the welfare of his disciples, who is compassionate, acting out of compassion — that has been done for you by me. Here, Ānanda, are these roots of trees; here are these empty dwellings. Meditate (jhāyatha), Ānanda; do not be negligent; do not be remorseful later. This is our instruction to you."
Thus spoke the Blessed One. Gladdened, the venerable Ānanda rejoiced in the Blessed One's words.
The Indriyabhāvanā Sutta, the tenth, is finished.
The Saḷāyatanavagga, the fifth, [is finished].
