[98] "Brahmin, when a bhikkhu is devoted to wakefulness (jāgariyā), the Tathāgata guides him further: 'Come, bhikkhu, be possessed of mindfulness (sati) and clear comprehension (sampajañña): act clearly comprehending when going forward and returning; act clearly comprehending when looking ahead and looking away; act clearly comprehending when bending and stretching; act clearly comprehending when bearing the outer robe, bowl, and robe; act clearly comprehending when eating, drinking, chewing, and tasting; act clearly comprehending when defecating and urinating; act clearly comprehending when walking, standing, sitting, falling asleep, waking, speaking, and keeping silent.'"
