[147] "This indeed is that Jetavana,
frequented by the community of seers,
dwelt in by the King of Dhamma (dhammarāja),
arousing rapture (pīti) in me.
Action (kamma), true knowledge (vijjā), Dhamma,
virtue (sīla), and the highest life —
by this are mortals purified,
not by clan or by wealth.
Therefore indeed a wise person,
seeing his own good,
should carefully investigate the Dhamma;
thus is he purified therein.
Sāriputta alone [is foremost] in wisdom (paññā),
in virtue, and in peace (upasama);
even a bhikkhu who has gone beyond (pāragata)
would at the utmost be his equal."
