[277] When this was said, the Venerable Ānanda said to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, surely that must have been the young deva (devaputta) Anāthapiṇḍika; the householder Anāthapiṇḍika had full confidence in the Venerable Sāriputta."
"Good, good, Ānanda! As far, Ānanda, as can be reached by reasoning, you have reached it.[1] For that young deva, Ānanda, was indeed Anāthapiṇḍika."

The summary (uddāna) thereof:
Candimasa and Veṇḍu, Dīghalaṭṭhi and Nandana,
Candana and Vāsudatta, Subrahmā together with Kakudha;
Uttara is declared the ninth, and the tenth is Anāthapiṇḍika.
