Nandasutta

[299] Standing to one side, the young deva (devaputta) Nanda spoke this verse in the presence of the Blessed One: "Times pass by, the nights hurry past; the stages of life (vayoguṇā) successively abandon us. Seeing this danger in death, one should do deeds of merit (puñña) that bring happiness."
