[411] Setting at Sāvatthī. Then King Pasenadi of Kosala approached the Blessed One in the middle of the day; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, he sat down to one side.
As King Pasenadi of Kosala was seated to one side, the Blessed One said this to him: "Well now, great king, where are you coming from in the middle of the day?"
"Venerable sir, there are those royal duties that belong to head-anointed khattiya kings — intoxicated with the intoxication of sovereignty, obsessed by greed for sensual pleasures, who have attained stability in their country, and who dwell having conquered a great circle of the earth — it is with these that I have now been occupied."
