[425] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Bārāṇasī, in the Deer Park at Isipatana. There the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus!" "Venerable sir!" those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said this: "Bhikkhus, it was through wise attention (yoniso manasikāra) and through wise right striving (yoniso sammappadhāna) that I attained unsurpassed liberation (anuttarā vimutti), that I realized unsurpassed liberation. You too, bhikkhus, through wise attention and through wise right striving, attain unsurpassed liberation; realize unsurpassed liberation."
