[481] "Bhikkhus, that was no brahmin. That was Māra the Evil One (pāpimā), who has come to confound your vision."
Then the Blessed One, having understood the meaning of this, on that occasion spoke this verse:
"One who has seen suffering (dukkha) and whence it has its source—
how could that person incline toward sensual pleasures?
Having known acquisition (upadhi) as a tie (saṅga) in the world,
a person should train for the removal of that very thing."
