[692] Then the sons led that affluent brahmin (brāhmaṇamahāsāla) home, bathed him, and each clothed him with a pair of cloths.
Then that affluent brahmin, taking one pair of cloths, approached the Blessed One; having approached, he exchanged greetings with the Blessed One, and when the courteous and amiable talk was concluded, he sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, that affluent brahmin said this to the Blessed One: "Master Gotama, we who are brahmins seek the teacher's fee (ācariyadhana) for the teacher. May Master Gotama, the teacher, accept from me the teacher's portion (ācariyabhāga)."
The Blessed One accepted out of compassion.
