Upanīyasutta

[7] Standing to one side, that deity (devatā) spoke this verse in the presence of the Blessed One: "Life is swept onward; brief is its span. For one led on by old age there are no shelters. Seeing this peril in death, one should do deeds of merit (puñña) that bring happiness."
