[866] This is what the Blessed One said. Having said this, the Fortunate One (sugata), the Teacher, further said this:
"In a forest, at the root of a tree, or in an empty dwelling, bhikkhus,
you should recollect the Fully Awakened One (sambuddha); no fear would there be for you.
If you should not recall the Buddha, the foremost in the world, the bull of men,
then you should recall the Dhamma, emancipating (niyyānika), well expounded.
If you should not recall the Dhamma, emancipating, well expounded,
then you should recall the Saṅgha, the unsurpassed field of merit (puññakkhetta).
For those thus recalling the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Saṅgha, bhikkhus,
no fear or trepidation, no bristling of the hair, will there be."
