[876] Bhikkhus, that Sakka, lord of the devas (devānaminda), living upon the fruit of his own merit (puñña), exercising sovereign lordship and kingship over the devas of Tāvatiṃsa — even he will be one who speaks in praise of patience (khanti) and gentleness (soracca)! Here indeed, bhikkhus, this would shine forth: that you, having gone forth in a Dhamma and Discipline (dhammavinaya) so well proclaimed, should be patient and gentle.
