[903] [The seers replied:]
"To us who ask for safety (abhaya)
you give only fear (bhaya);
we accept from you one thing alone—safety:
may the fear be yours!
Whatever kind of seed one obtains,
that is the kind of fruit one obtains:
the doer of good obtains good,
and the doer of evil, evil.
The seed, dear sir, has been sown by you;
you shall experience its fruit."
Then, bhikkhus, when those seers, virtuous and of good character, had cursed Sambara, lord of the asuras (asurinda), then—just as a strong man might extend his drawn-in arm or draw in his extended arm—even so they vanished right there in the presence of Sambara, lord of the asuras, and reappeared in the leaf-huts on the shore of the ocean.
