[924] The four who are practising the way, and the four established in the fruit— this is the Saṅgha, upright, endowed with wisdom (paññā) and virtue (sīla). For human beings who sacrifice, for living beings seeking merit, making merit that ripens in acquisitions (opadhikaṃ puññaṃ), what is given to the Saṅgha bears great fruit.
