[12] And what, bhikkhus, is contact (phassa)? There are these six classes of contact (phassakāyā): eye-contact (cakkhusamphassa), ear-contact (sotasamphassa), nose-contact (ghānasamphassa), tongue-contact (jivhāsamphassa), body-contact (kāyasamphassa), mind-contact (manosamphassa). This, bhikkhus, is called contact.
