[219] "Suppose, bhikkhus, there were a great tree. Then a man might come along, taking a spade and a basket … no more subject to arising in the future. In just the same way, bhikkhus, for one who dwells contemplating the danger (ādīnava) in things that fetter (saññojaniyā dhammā), there is no descent (avakkanti) of name-and-form (nāmarūpa). With the cessation (nirodha) of name-and-form comes the cessation of the six sense bases (saḷāyatana) … Such is the cessation of this whole mass of suffering (dukkha)."
