[304] "Whatever suffering (dukkha) and grief, Susima, that man would experience on that account, the going forth of a thief of the Dhamma (dhammatthenaka) in a Dhamma and Discipline so well proclaimed as this has results even more painful and more bitter than that; and moreover, it leads to a state of ruin (vinipāta). But since you, Susima, having seen your transgression (accaya) as a transgression, make amends in accordance with the Dhamma, we accept this from you. For it is growth, Susima, in the discipline of the Noble One when one, having seen a transgression as a transgression, makes amends in accordance with the Dhamma and undertakes restraint in the future."

Its summary verse (uddāna):
Two on the Unlearned were spoken, and another, with the Son's Flesh;
Presence of Lust, and the City, Thorough Examination, the Sheaves of Reeds;
Kosambī and They Flow Toward — the tenth spoken is with Susima.
